Car Crash started with a simple idea during a road trip. Back in 2020, my wife and I were driving across the country, exploring national parks and blasting our favorite songs along the way. I’ve always been the type to drum on the steering wheel or throw in some air drumming during a good break, but I found myself wanting something MORE.

That’s when it hit me. I turned to my wife and said, “What if we made a little cymbal you could mount in the car?” We both laughed. Who would actually buy that?

But the idea never left me. Every time I was jamming in the car, it came back. Finally, in late 2024, I decided to give it a real shot. After experimenting with different cymbals, I rigged one up to a car phone mount. The first Car Crash prototype was born.

When I installed it in my car and played “Smells Like Teen Spirit” (yeah, I know — classic choice), I hit that cymbal and immediately knew we had something special.

Getting a final product took months of testing, tweaking, and more late nights than I’d like to admit. We ran into plenty of challenges and went over budget more than once. But with the support of friends, family, and a whole lot of persistence, Car Crash officially launched.

Since then, we’ve been improving the product and dreaming up some fun new ideas we can’t wait to share. We’ve already sold tens of thousands of Car Crash cymbals, and the response has been incredible. Seeing so many people jamming out behind the wheel just like we imagined has been the best part of this whole journey.
